If you have tinted windows and drive on the Taconic, read this

It seems that state troopers patrolling the Taconic State Parkway have been issuing more tickets for improper window tinting lately, adding to the other specialty tickets that they write.

These are equipment tickets that are given when the officer believes that the tinting will allow less than 70% of the light to pass through the glass. It would be unusual for an officer to test this at the scene with a light meter, but if that were to occur then that’s something to bring up during a free attorney consultation.

If you choose to drive a car with tinted windows, you may get additional scrutiny from officers who might prefer being able to see easily inside of the vehicle. A defense against tickets for illegally tinted windows could include a receipt showing the type of tint that was installed/

At Selby Legal, we appear in traffic courts covering the entire length of the Taconic. If you’ve been pulled over on that parkway, upload your traffic ticket or give us a call for a free consultation.
