Traffic tickets and truckers

If you have a commercial driver’s license, then keeping your driving record clean can be the difference between a reliable job and unemployment. It’s true that there are other people who also need a license for their livelihood, but only CDL holders can have their vehicles weighed, cargos inspected, and log books reviewed at any time. Violations that are just an inconvenience to many other drivers can potentially lead to a CDL being taken away, temporarily or permanently.

Every trucker needs to understand that holding a CDL means being held to a very high standard. For example, being found guilty of any of these violations of vehicle and traffic law could result in a license suspension:

There are also trucker-specific violations that fall under transportation law, such as exceeding limit on weight, size or emissions. Even if the truck is maintained and loaded by other people, the law places the responsibility with the licensed driver.

Lawmakers know that someone with a CDL probably has more to lose. Revoke an ordinary driver’s license, and that person may need to take a bus to work. Revoke a commercial driver’s license, and that person may no longer be working at all. With that much at stake, calling for a free consultation is an important next step to take.
